The changes in the type of social network of ethnic minorities in the Vietnam - China border area
Abstract
Based on the criteria for classifying purposes, the social network of the Lo Lo and Nung ethnic groups in the Vietnam - China border area consists of four main types: livelihood network, mutual assistance network, security network, and health care network. Up to now, many traditional elements of social networks are still maintained, such as individuals and households being important nodes (Node), becoming the nucleus of the network. On the other hand, some State organizations (village committees and commune authorities, banks, health stations, hospitals) are increasingly participating in the social network, even becoming the nucleus of these social networks. To enhance the role of social networks in socio-economic development in the Vietnam-China border region, it is necessary to strengthen the participation of farmers' associations, women's unions, youth unions, and organizations, and agricultural and forestry associations.
