Cultural resources and community development from the anthropological perspective

Abstract

On the basis of a review of theoretical perspectives on cultural capital, this paper seeks to answer the question of how to transform cultural resources into the driving force for development, and to make culture deeply engage in the process of sustainable development. The involvement of cultural capital in the process of socio-economic development also means accepting or using components of a certain culture or its ideas, symbols, tangible and intangible cultural aspects. Therefore, development strategies need to situate culture in a broader context to understand its dynamics and diversity, to ensure its ability to promote cooperation and to mobilize cultural resources in the development process instead of relying solely on material resources or imposed decisions from outside the community
