Abstract

This article mentions the traditional farming activities of the Dzao people in Banh Trach commune, Ba Be district, Bac Kan province. This location is a remote and extremely difficult region. Swidden agriculture, terrace rice farming, and gardening are traditional cultivation methods of the Dzao, which have been continuingly practiced through many generations. Farming together with handy-craft and trades are a traditional system of livelihood that is ecologically sustainable and compatible with the land.
