Traditional community house construction of ethnic minority groups in the Central Highland

Abstract

: During the passing years, many villages in the Central Highland have built their own traditional community houses from many different budget sources. There have been a number of researches that discuss the issue of traditional community house construction. However, not many of them assess thoroughly or analyze the strengths and weaknesses of current solutions to community house construction. Drawing on fieldwork data collected in several provinces, this article focuses on the strength and limitations of traditional community house construction in order to recommend solutions to build community houses more effectively for ethnic minority groups in the Central Highland of Vietnam.
