The values of the traditional beliefs of the Dzao Tien people and issues of concern today

Abstract

The traditional beliefs of the Dzao Tien people as well as of the Dzao community have been constructed throughout their history. Their traditional beliefs play an important role in the current rites, rituals, and festivals of the Dzao people. Cultural features such as musical instruments, traditional dances, folk songs, spiritual poems for worshiping, decorative arts, holy food offerings, festive costumes, holy paintings, etc., are attached to their traditional cultural practices and ritual beliefs. Therefore, the traditional belief of the Dzao and many ethnic groups are deemed a cultural heritage, which needs to be preserved and promoted appropriately to develop positively in the context of market economic development, globalization, and integration.
