Abstract

During the Doi Moi Period. The Northeastern region of Vietnam is the settlement area of many ethnic groups. Since the Doi Moi period, ethnic relations in this region have been changing in almost of all fields including economic, social, cultural and political security. There have been many new types of ethnic relations produced by changes in agricultural and forestry practices and large scale unorganized migration and this increases transnational ethnic relations. Although such new ethnic relations vary for each ethnic group and location in terms of level, they contribute to anintegration trend amongst ethnic groups in many fields, especially in livelihood activities, social life and material culture.
