Chinese experiences of socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas and ethnic policy implementation in the contemporary era.
Abstract
It is necessary to understand the theoretical and empirical experiences of development and ethnic policy of each country in the region, especially in countries which share the same frontiers, cross border ethnic relations, and commercial exchange relations in a globalized context. Upon examining Chinese large-scale socio-economic development programs operated in autonomous regions and frontier areas through 30 years of innovation, especially in the passing 10 years, this article suggests experiential lessons of ethnic policymaking at the regional and trans-regional level for Vietnam in the future.
