Some issues on ethnic relations in the Central Highland today.

Abstract

Since Renovation, ethnic relations and ethnic cohesion in Tay Nguyen have been expressed in many forms with new forms which represent continuity of tradition and increasing diversity. Multi-dimensional ethnic relations in Tay Nguyen have widened and been enhanced domestically and internationally. This simultaneously generates positive impacts and some unexpected influences on the stability and sustainable development of this region and of many ethnic peoples in the region. Such ethnic relations are the products of lively facts of national history, of the region and country’s changes as well as the consequences of international integration. If thesse issues are not managed appropriately and in a timely manner, minor and simple matters might generate serious conflicts, which make ethnic relations more complicated and would impact on the socio-economic development and security of the country in general and that of Tay Nguyen region in specific.
