The relationship between states and religions in the world.
Abstract
The relationship between states and religions has existed since states appeared. This relationship compounds two essential processes: politicizing religions, which means that states use religions for political purposes; and religionizing politics, which means that religions inserts certain ideologies and ethics into politics and benefit state activities and objectives. State attitudes towards religions can be viewed in three directions: peaceful, abandoned, and a combination of both. The relationship between states and religions is not a fixed model but depends on the historical, cultural, and political social situations of each state. However, building states which are secular, religiously tolerant, guaranteeing of equality and democratic amongst religions is considered as the principle of this relationship.
