Using unique cultural values of typical forms folk art and literature of ethnic groups in socio-economic development in Ha Giang.

Abstract

In the current period, Ha Giang province has activated the strategy of “using traditional culture as motivations of tourism development and improvement in order to preserve the culture”. This strategy launch has been successful in using tangible and intangible cultural values, including folk art and literature, in community tourism activities. This article empirically demonstrates how unique values of ethnic minorities’ folk art and literature are used and preserved in the socio economic development of Ha Giang province. Through discussions presented in this article, the author evaluates achievements and shortcomings of implemented policies in the province over time. On this basis, the author recommends some solutions for making policies more effective in using and preserving values of typical forms of folk art and the literature of ethnic minority groups in Ha Giang province in order to contribute to the province’s socio economic development in the contemporary context.
