Culture with development: Viewpoints, theories, and researches of ethnic groups in Vietnam.

Abstract

During the recent passing centuries, culture has been deemed important by many international organizations and countries due to its attachment to the development process and culture is one of the four crucial poles of sustainable development. Thereby, the roles of culture have been institutionalized through policies, legislation so that culture absorbs into the development process. Embracing similar viewpoints and directions, Vietnam highly values the culture’s importance in the national sustainable development process through national cultural policies and sustainable development strategies. In order to promote culture’s roles in Vietnam, researchers have been studying the relationships between ethnic, national cultures and ethnic, national developments in terms of economic issues, social and natural resources management. However, to enhance the role of culture, it is mandatory to conduct good quality researches so that cultural values could be preserved and promoted.
