Some features of Protestantism in the Northern region in comparison to that in the Central Highland and concerning issues.

Abstract

Protestantism was transmitted to ethnic groups in Vietnam through two major hubs: the North West and the Central Highland regions with two different mechanisms, in two different periods of time and being ‘nurtured’ by different regional ethnic cultures but under the same headquarters instructions. In development process, Protestanism in return has influences on the cultural and social lives of ethnic groups in such regions. This makes distinguishing features of Protestantism in the North West and Central Highland regions. This article highlights the differences and similarities of Protestantism in the North West and Central Highland and thereby to raise concerning religious issues in the new context of Vietnam today.
