Main Findings from a Literature Review of Ca Mau Sub-island with Climate Change and Calamity
Abstract
In the recent years, Mekong delta of Vietnam including Ca Mau sub-island has been influenced strongly by climate change and calamity. There have been a number of disciplinary and inter-disciplinary studies of both domestic and international researchers which analyzed and assessed the practical situation as well as raised the warms or proposed the resolutions of response for ensuring of livelihood security and sustainable development for a number of provinces belonging to Ca Mau sub-island. This writing mainly makes a general review of the salient studies not only about Ca Mau sub-island but also in relation with Mekong Delta from the disciplinary and inter-disciplinary viewpoints inside and outside Vietnam. Based on the main findings, in the last section of the writing, the author raises a number of research orientations relating to eco-environmental change, response of communities and policy of regional and inter-regional development.
