The Policy on Restructuring of Crops in Ethnic Minority Region of Vietnam from Renovation (1986) to Present
Abstract
Over the past 30 years of implementation of the Renovation, the Vietnamese Communist Party and State have adopted important guidelines, policies of socio-economic development that have fundamentally altered the national economy, including the policy of crop restructuring in the ethnic minority region. Although there has no specific policy but inserted into other policies, the rational change of crop structure has contributed to improving the lives of ethnic minority people compared to those before the Renovation. Although the level of crop conversion varies between regions or ethnic groups, the achieved results have confirmed the rightness of the crop restructuring in socio-economic development in the ethnic minority region. Based on the review of the policies relating to the crop restructuring in the system of policies during over 30 years of the Renovation, this writing indicates some arisen questions in the field of crop restructuring for the policies of socio-economic development in the ethnic minority region at present.
