Labor, Job and Gender Division of Labor in Process of Transformation of Economic Structure in the Mekong River Delta

Abstract

In the background of market mechanism, the process of transformation of economic structure of Mekong river delta has led to the formation of different models of agricultural economy which have aimed to take advantages of nature and people of this region. The consequence of process of transformation of economic structure has made change of labor structure, jobs and usage of labor in agricultural activities. These changes have affected the gender division of social labor, both opportunities and challenges in livelihood strategy of households which have carried the specific features of this region.
