Some Aspects of the Life of Viet Community in Udon Thani Province, Thailand

Abstract

The writing reflects the increasing development of Viet community for last seventy years accompanied with its pride of root together with consciousness in preservation of traditional cultural values of Vietnam nation; by that it can be affirmed that the Viet community in Udon Thani is an important economic, political and cultural bridge motivating the Vietnam-Thailand strategic relationship, especially after 1988 when Prime Minister Chatichai who came into power stated the policy to bring two countries closer together and convert the Indochinese battlefield into a market. The writing contributes more data for studies of community of Vietnamese in Southeast Asia
