Culture of the Tay Community in Nghia Lo in Economic Relation with Ethnicities in the Northwestern Region and Their Ability of Adaptation to Sustainable Development

Abstract

The Tay ethnic group which is one of important residential communities in the Northwestern region, one of the six ethnicities in Vietnam with population over one million, has resided concentratively and long-lastingly in the region, has shared the origin in common with the Tay in China, Laos, Thailand and so on, and has constructed a great and original cultural heritage. Based on the data collected from the two field studies in the years of 2016 and 2017 in Nghia An commune, Nghia Lo town, Yen Bai province and the data in the published research works, the writing indicates and analyzes the nature of economic relationship of the Tay community in Nghia Lo with other ethnic communities inside and outside the Northwestern region as well as its identity and ability of adaptation to the sustainable economic development
