Abstract
Tu Di people are a local group of the Bo Y ethnicity who migrated from China to Vietnam. Tu Di people in Muong Khuong district, Lao Cai province are one of sub - ethnic groups with small population so that in former times, their ethnic relationships mainly were narrowed within their own group. After a number of their villages were resettled intermingled with many other ethnicities, the ethnic relationships of Tu Di people have been broadened and have developed in three domains, namely economic, social and cultural ones. Moreover, since the reopening of the Sino-Vietnamese border, Tu Di people also have increased their relationships with co-ethnic and non-coethnic people in China. Yet, due to the background of the market economy, besides their active sides, the ethnic relationships of Tu Di people in Muong Khuong district, Lao Cai province also have had negative aspects which need to be studied and solved in time
