The Local Knowledge in Exploitation and Use of Agricultural Land of Thai People in Tuong Duong District, Nghe An Province

Abstract

The local knowledge of Thai people in exploitation and use of natural resources including land resource has expressed many reasonable, scientific qualities. Yet, in the background of current development, this local knowledge has lost gradually and has changed very fast. In addition to that, the natural resources also have become retrograded and  exhausted more with every passing day. This writing only discusses the reasonable qualities of the system of local knowledge of Thai people in Tuong Duong district, Nghe An province in exploitation and use of agricultural land. The aim is to make contribution to preserving values of ethnic cultural heritage as well as bringing into play those values for protection of land and environmental sustainable development.
