Traditional Knowledge in Usage of Medicinal Herbs among Thai People in Con Cuong District, Nghe An Province

Abstract

Living in the mountainous region of Nghe An province, Thai people have accumulated a lot of knowledge in health care, especially the knowledge in usage of medicinal herbs. This knowledge has been very useful for Thai people because of the convenience and availability of medicinal herbs and the effectiveness of remedies of medicinal herbs in primary health care. The article indicated the role of the Thai’s traditional knowledge of medicinal herbs in Con Cuong district, Nghe An province in health care for Thai people as well as made clear its change in their current society. From those, the writing showed the big values of the Thai’s traditional knowledge of medicinal herbs in terms of not only culture but also cure of diseases for Thai community
