The Livelihood Transformation of Gia-rai People in Ia Glai Commune, Chu Se District, Gia Lai Province since the Renovation (1986) up to Present

Abstract

The writing focuses on the investigation of the practical situation and main reasons affecting the livelihood transformation of the Gia-rai households in a commune of Gia Lai province after the thirty years of implementation of Renovation (1986-2016). The livelihood development in the market economy background in Ia Glai commune has been the result of process of movement in communities of residents in place to transform the structure of plants, change the traditional cultivated practices and the impact of the mechanism, policy of socio-economic development of the Vietnamese Communist Party and State towards the region of ethnic minorities. In its conclusion, the writing also indicates the challenges for sustainable livelihood development of Gia-rai people in the research site in the integration and development background
