A Number of Socio-economic Changes of Co-ho People in Di Linh District, Lam Dong Province in the Renovation Period
Abstract
This writing presents a number of socio-economic changes of Co-ho people in 30 renovation years, with its focus on a number of outstanding localities such as Gung Re, Tan Chau, Tan Thuong communes, Dinh Trang Hoa of Di Linh district, Lam Dong province. Owing to their advantages of natural condition, terrain, climate and geographic location, Co-ho people, which is an indigenous ethnic group, in Di Linh district has had the strongest and fastest socio-economic development among the indigenous peoples in the Central Highlands. Of the socio-economic changes, the change in the farming is the fastest, the most impressive and the clearest one. The economic change is an important premise leading to the changes of society and culture which express in education, health care, marriage and social management with the role of village patriarch in assistance for the political system as an informal representative of social management. However, there still have been a number of issues raising for the sustainable socio-economic development of Co-ho community at present.
