Religious Anthropology and A Number of Research Orientations in the Coming Time

Abstract

For 30 renovation years of Vietnam, there were a number of works of disciplines such as Religious Science, Religious Philosophy, Religious History, Religious Sociology, Religious Politics, etc. which touched on the religious field. However, the works studying religion from anthropological angle still have been very rare. This practical situation puts task to push up more the anthropological studies in religious field. The anthropological studies in religious field should give priority to five issues as following: i) the developmental tendencies of a number of world religions which imported and have been importing to Vietnam; ii) the impacts of religions on social life of people in industrialization, modernization and globalization time; iii) the preservation of cultural values of religions, traditional beliefs of ethnic minorities in Vietnam; iv) the relationship of the State and religious organizations; and v) Vietnam Communist Party’s policies towards religions.
