The writing describes the conceptions and ways of ancestral worship of Ha Nhi people. These ones also are the bases for Ha Nhi people to perform their activities of ancestral worship. Accordingly, Ha Nhi people worship their ancestors in the occasions as follows: at the beginning of their traditional New Year, in the common ceremonies of community, rituals for exorcising evil spirits, rejoicing in harvest, and praying for longevity. The ancestral ceremony is to pray for protection of ancestors and to be grateful for people who gave birth and brought up the offsprings. In their conception, Ha Nhi people always perceive that the ancestors are the presentation of the most supernatural and purest powers so that they always express clearly their respect for ancestors and worship them in traditional ways. Yet, at present, the ancestral ceremony of Ha Nhi people has some change, mixture of traditional elements with modern ones. This is the result of interference and acculturation in the context of increasing resident interweavement of ethnic groups.
