Funeral Ritual of Ha Nhi People (A Case Study in Nam Pung and Y Ty Communes, Bat Xat District, Lao Cai Province)

Abstract

Funeral is a factor of ethnic culture which has had a few change so that still has maintained the specific characteristics of Ha Nhi people. It is traditional experience of steps of preparation and implementation of ritual before, during and after the funeral through which the community solidary and mutual help of Ha Nhi people have been expressed. At present, the funeral of Ha Nhi people had and has having its changes in the positive direction in more harmony with a new socio-economic condition but still has maintained its own traditional cultural values.
