Some Aspects of Exploitation of Forest Products of the Tay People in Po Cai Village, Gia Cat Commune, Cao Loc District, Lang Son Province

Abstract

So far, the exploitation of forest products still has played an important role in life of Tay households in Po Cai village. Yet, traditionally, the Tay people in this village mainly have exploited ready natural products in forests to meet their self-sufficient needs. Recently, due to the impact of different factors, the exploitation of forest products of the Tay people has had a shift from the seizing ready resources in forests to the foresting and gathering the high economically valuable trees attaching to protection of the area of rest natural forests. As a result, the barren hills gradually have been covered with the gardens of persimmons, pine and pimpinalla anisum. Especially, the Tay people in Po Cai village have initiative consciousness in care for, protection and development of forests.
