In the painting village system in the Northern Delta, Boi Khe village (Chuyen My commune, Phu Xuyen district, Hanoi) has a long history and had soon positioned itself with its own technical lacquer art, crafted by a process of many complex stages... Through the historical events and vicissitudes, the traditional craft, which is praised as a “job for life beauty”, has been preserved and developed by Boi Khe artisans. Today, the Boi Khe village has approximately 80% of employed households, creating jobs and income for the households. However, painting profession and villages are facing huge difficulties in consumption, environmental pollution, etc. that should attract the interest and support by all levels of government.
