* Religious Beliefs of the Kinh People in Van Vy Village, Dongxing City, Guangxi Province, China

Abstract

This article refers to different types of religious beliefs of the Kinh in Van Vy village. Accordingly, the Kinh religious beliefs are affected by the religious beliefs of the Kinh in the surrounding villages of Dongxing City of China and Mong Cai of Vietnam, including worships of ancestors, supernatural forces and village spirits, which reside in different locations. The rituals are practiced by male religious practitioners, including the temple keepers, shamans, psychics. Religious belief is a symbol of ethnic solidarity, a key element of the psychological perceptions of an ethnic group. Along with the gradual recovery of religious beliefs in Van Vy village, cognitive and teaching functions of religious beliefs have gradually strengthened here. However, the author suggests that it is necessary to undertake further research to understand the impacts of Confucianism, Buddhism, Tao... on the religious beliefs of the Kinh people in Van Vy village.
