Biến đổi về vốn xã hội của người Chăm Hồi giáo từ việc đi làm ăn qua biên giới
Tóm tắt
This article shows that the engaging in employment or business far-from-home is characteristic of the Islamic Cham people in An Phu district, An Giang province. Today, the scales, types and trading places have changed due to the influences of globalization, underdeveloped local production and natural resource degradation. In general, the Cham people tend to engage in cross-border business with Cambodia, and the main activities include fishing, small-scale trade and agricultural production. Their work is characterized by self-employment, spontaneity and unstability. In this context, the coherence of the Cham community has developed. However, the distribution of resources based on community cohesion on both sides of the border can facilitate economic development, but it also can isolate the community culture. That point entails great challenges to social, cultural and administrative management.
