Vấn đề tôn kính tổ tiên của người Việt Công giáo ở giáo họ Nỗ Lực tỉnh Phú Thọ
Tóm tắt
The author emphasizes the significance of the filial respect for the ancestor in every Viet family as an indispensable grateful behavior towards the ancestor and as a filial duty in their moral standards. However, the performance of this faith is different between one social-religious group and another. Through this study, the author defines that the Viet Catholic’s ancestor worship in the No Luc diocese of Phu Tho province: 1) is based on the Catholic dogmas, including the regulations of the filial piety towards the ancestor and parents when they are alive and even when they are dead; 2) has its specific characteristics: the souls and bodies are created by the God; the funeral for the dead Catholics are carried out in the church, etc; 3) is different between the non-Catholic and the Catholic in terms of perceptions of souls and the existence of souls after the death as well as the funeral practices; 4) is similar between the non-Catholic and the Catholic in terms of perceptions of the death and the reversion to the origin. Despite the different performances, the Viet Catholic’s ancestor worship aims to strengthen the family and kinship relationships.
