Folklore Literature Zones in Thanh Hoa Province

Abstract

This article focuses on the criteria used to zone the folklore literature in Thanh Hoa province. The author initiates a plan of how to plan folklore literature zones; at the same time, she generalizes the Thanh Hoa specific characteristics of the folklore literature in this region. In this study, she divides the Thanh Hoa folklore literature into two zones (mountainous and lowland zones) which have their own characteristics but exist in a united mechanism all over Thanh Hoa province. The development of the Thanh Hoa folklore literature is an uninterrupted process through the mountainous areas to the lowlands with almost genres similar to those of the folklore literature in the whole country. However, the author states more studies of the Thanh Hoa folklore literature zones are necessary.
