The author presents the major issues of anthropology and cultural studies from the anthropological perspectives. He emphasizes the importance of research methodology and theoretical framework to cultural studies with the aim of seeking particular approaches to the studies of cultural symbols. Through an overview of symbolism research, the author considers that the component parts of anthropology of symbolism are based on the three following objects: human beings, society and culture. The researchers normally focus on these objects when they are interested in the cultural studies. The theory of symbolism is also an important part of anthropology theory; in symbolism it is successful to have a combination of synchronic and diachronic as well as interdisciplinary approaches.
