Studying Domestic Violence in Vietnam

  • Hoàng Bá Thịnh

Abstract

The author examines studies on domestic violence in Vietnam over the last ten years. Most studies on domestic violence lack adequate theoretical and empirical contributions leaving a broad array of studies that do not totally preclude any useful understanding to the occurrence of domestic violence. Future studies will be improved by defining domestic violence more broadly so that they address violence not only within marriage but also violence outside of marriage as well as violence from women on men.
