The Spiritual Culture of the Muong in Thanh Long Commune (Thach Thanh District, Thanh Hoa Province)

Abstract

In this article, Hue describes traditional aspects of Muong spiritual culture, including daily practices, festivals, witchcraft, and folklore. The Muong rely on their traditional culture for moral support when they face difficulties in their lives and helps reaffirm their cultural identity. Regrettably, many aspects of the Muong’s spiritual culture are diminishing due to the increasing integration process in to globalization. This article seeks to preserve and uphold their cultural characteristics by collecting, documenting and preserving the values of the Muong’s traditional culture.
