Cư dân vùng Thuận - Hóa đầu thế kỷ XV qua văn bản “Thủy Thiên”
Tóm tắt
This article describes the changes in population and the mosaic of inhabitants living in the Thuan Hoa region by examining a Sino-Vietnamese text, the “Thuy Thien” (“The First Emigrants”), relating to relationships between the Kinh (the Viet) and local indigenous people. The “Thuy Thien” was written in the early 15th century and is considered one of the oldest texts referring to the Thuan Hoa region. Traces of the early 15th century inhabitants of Thuan Hoa have somehow been preserved until now, however, the group’s history in the Delta region is unclear due to the integration of the indigenous Chiem people with the Kinh community. Other ethnic groups that are not part of the community are the groups currently inhabiting the mountainous areas of Northern Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien. This article also raises research questions regarding geographic names, names of ethnic groups and ethnic relationships for future study.
