This article discusses the current trend among the ethnic Cham group from Huu Duc village, Phuoc Huu commune, Ninh Phuoc district, Ninh Thuan province, of relocating to find employment opportunities in distant locations. It also mentions the factors relating to the situation of the Cham who leave their villages for jobs; their age, gender and educational levels, types of jobs, and reasons for relocating. Another important aspect covered in this article is the effects and impacts of the Cham’s employment on household income, gender and family relations, thinking and culture. The author posits that the benefits of employment outside the rural Cham community have motivated many Cham people to leave their villages in search of work and improved living standards.
