Từ Kẻ trong tiếng Thái Mường Tấc

  • Hoàng Lương

Tóm tắt

In the old    Vietnamese language, the word “Kẻ” was used to imply place-names, and there are many Chinese-Vietnamese names of villages relating closely to “Kẻ”, such as Kẻ Lũ, Kẻ Sặt, Kẻ Noi, and Kẻ Chợ. Based on a traditional witch-song sung in the “Tày òn ọc” funeral ceremony of the Thai ethnic group in Muong Tac of Phu Yen district, Son La province, the author finds additional words using “Kẻ” which indicate the living places of particular animals. Using additional research, the author contends that this article supports a linguistic relationship between the old Tay-Thai people and the old Viet-Muong people.
