The Changes in Eating and Drinking Customs of Dao Thanh Phan People in Tan Dan Commune, Hoanh Bo district, Quang Ninh Province

Abstract

This article focuses on analyzing the changes in eating and drinking habits of Dao Thanh Phan people in the context of economic development and the strengthening of socio-cultural relations. The study was conducted in two villages of Dao Thanh Phan people, Tan Dan commune, Hoanh Bo district, Quang Ninh province. The cooking methods, meal organization, and eating and drinking habits of Dao families in Khe Cat village and Dao-Kinh families in Tan Lap village have changed at different levels. The differences in shifting were determined by the mode of production, the type of family or community business as well as income gaps, career structure, and cultural exchange.
