The division of a village: thinking about the unification and sympathies of Viet villages in the feudal period
Abstract
The article contains an analysis of the division of the feudal Chuong village, Thanh Oai district, Ha Tay province. The difference between Chuong village and others is that the conflict of factions did not divide the village, but it led to the division of giap- a social unit belonging to the village. Based on that fact, the author considers the trend of solidarity and division of Viet villages according to the tradition: Viet people stand together in irrigation and against aggressors; however, they are easily divided in their scrambling for power because of narrow-mindedness and envy
