Abstract

Sources of natural food for local people in Central Highlands play an important support role in between seasons or harvest loss. Studies from three villages of Ro mam, E de and Mnong showed that hundreds of different plants and animals have been used for food. Nowadays, there appears to be inconsistency between local customs and State regulation when utilizing these sources of food. In order to use sources of natural food more effectively for the local people in Central Highlands, we should promote the role of community management through forest allotment. At the same time, state forest farms should delegate to communities the management of non-timber forest products and wild animals.
