Abstract

Kin pang is the most important festival of the shaman to express thanks both to its ancestors and supernatural forces. Usually, the Kin pang festival is only held when the shaman’s family suffers from illness, harvest loss, animal disease, or declining economy.  This festival is usually held in the spring. An even (not odd) day is selected to celebrate the days of ancestors deaths and the birthdays of a festival master. The venue is at the shaman’s house. In the past, it usually lasted for 3 days and nights, now it is only one day and one night, but with the same processes and activities as before.
