Food security for inhabitants living in buffer zone of Bach Ma national park: Challenges in development strategy

Abstract

The Bach Ma national park belongs to Phu Loc and Nam Dong districts, Thua Thien Hue province and Hoa Vang district of Da Nang city. This is a living area of the Viet, Co-tu, and Bru-Van Kieu. Many of them were very poor. Conservation of biodiversity at this national park should be closely linked with food security of the local people on the basis of agricultural development, vocational diversification, making sure that local people benefit from afforestation and protection.
