Traditional Values of Inhabitants of Tam Giang, Cau Hai Lagoon Area, Thua Thien Hue Province in Adaptation to the Environment

Abstract

A community’s traditional culture and values are shaped by their adaptation to their environment. This research analyses the traditional values of the inhabitants of the Tam Giang-Cau Hai lagoon area in Thua Thien Hue province from the perspective of environmental adaptation. The study demonstrates a balanced and harmonious relationship between the community’s traditional values and the local environment, which ensures stability in social development. Therefore, this article suggests a few contentions about the possibility of applying the local community’s important knowledge in adapting to environmental changes towards sustainable development.
