Abstract

To date, numerous domestic and international studies have explored ethnic relations; however, relatively few have delved into the interaction between ethnic minorities and the nation of Vietnam, particularly regarding the impact of this relation on socio-economic development in the Vietnam-China border region. Consequently, this article aims to elucidate both the positive and negative impacts of the relationship between ethnic groups and the Vietnamese nation on socio-economic advancement, the fostering of national unity, and the assurance of political security and national defence within the contemporary Vietnam-China border vicinity. Grounded in this objective, the article addresses certain concerns and puts forth recommendations to enhance the efficacy of the relationship between ethnic groups and the Vietnamese nation in these border locales, given the progressively intricate international backdrop.
