The social network’s roles in the new livelihoods of the Lo Lo and Nung people in the frontier areas of Cao Bang province

Abstract
The Lo Lo people (in Bao Lac district) and the Nung people (in Trung Khanh district, living in the frontier areas of Cao Bang province, are lack land for agricultural farming and forestry. Therefore, these two ethnic groups are utilizing their social networks to develop new livelihood activities, including commercial trade, seasonal labor, etc... to improve their family income. This article examines the role of the social networks in the livelihood activities of the Nung and Lo Lo people in the market economy and integration context in the frontier areas of Cao Bang province.
