Theravada Buhddism in the spiritual life of Khmer people in Soc Trang province today

Abstract

This article focuses on analyzing and describing the role of Theravada Buhddism among Khmer people in Soc Trang province today. In particular, Theravada Buhddism still has great influences on the spiritual life of Khmer people in Soc Trang province in many ways such as moralilty, political life, training and education, customs, lifestyle, art, etc. This article looks at some of these traditional basic features of Khmer people through the lens of Khmer Theravada Buhddism’s influences.
