Material capital in economic development includes infrastructure, housing, land and other material vehicles. They are all monetary tools to sustain the stability of groups for social development. For the Mnong living in the resettled and impacted areas of Tua Srah hydroeletric power plan in Lak district, Dak Lak province, being provided good infrastructure and generous farming land by the Vietnamese government has led to an increase in their awareness of the importance of building and protecting their infrastructure and investing in production tools and equipments. These are important factors that enhance their socio economic development. However, due to the uncompatibility of the infrastructure and the low quality of production materials, there are barriers for socio-economic development. This study points out impacts of material capital resources that enhance and constrain livelihood development of the Mnong in the mentioned area.
