The development of cattle slaughter jobs in a Northern Delta village.
Abstract
This article explores the present situation and consequent issues of cattle slaughter jobs in Bai Do village, Tri Thuy commune, Phu Xuyen district - one of the biggest meat supply “centers” for Hanoi city and other Northern Delta provinces. This article points out that alongside the local people’s dynamics, economic profits are stimulated but there are also negative impacts, especially when slaughter is developed freely and spontaneously. Slaughtering methods and product distribution are rudimentary and this hides many risks including unfair competition, seriously polluted environments, and bad impacts on human health.
