The Land Use Situation of A Number of Ethnic Minorities in Sino-Vietnamese Border Areas
Abstract
This writing describes and analyzes the situation of land use in agro-forestry production, commerce and service of ethnic minorities in the Sino-Vietnamese border areas. The border trading economy has changed considerably economic thinking which has changed from the traditional economic thinking (self-sufficience, expection for the state support) to the active economic thinking and thirst for making rich of a considerable part of ethnic minorities, especially Hmong, Yao, Tay and Nung peoples in the Sino-Vietnamese border areas. This has made local people change their available land use in order to increase the effect of land use so as to ensure food security, poverty reduction and development of household economy. The writing also indicates clearly that the population increase and increasing demand of food and making rich have put pressure upon the land and have raised many issues to be solved.
