Giá trị đạo đức của gia đình người Hoa Quảng Đông qua lễ cưới
Tóm tắt
By the application of the method of decode of symbols in rituals of Victor Turner, this writing generalizes the system of ethical values of Chinese-Vietnamese family through the symbols in wedding ceremony. It indicates clearly that the system of ethical values of Chinese-Vietnamese family carried in the symbols of wedding ceremony basically still has been under influence of Confucianism in which value of “piety” is the most important one. The “piety” is expressed in terms of the respect for one’s ancestors and the thankfulness for one’s parents. In marriage, the faithfulness, giving birth to a son to continue the ancestral line, and prosperity of family are highly appreciated. In the family and community, the relationships of parents-children, old-young brothers, husband-wife, people in high rank-low rank still have been respected. The society of Chinese-Vietnamese is a patriarchal one. Although the conception of gender prejudice (“think highly of men and think scornfully of women”) had lost, men still have played a main role in family. The Confucianism culture has undergone change but it still has been maintained in family ceremonies. Despite its change, the Confucianism culture basically still has been retained in family ceremonies.
